SHOWDOWN IN THE CASCADES

BY ENTERING YOU AGREE TO ABIDE BY AND FOLLOW ALL RULES.

DRESS CODE:  Cowboy hat or helmet, long-sleeved shirt, pants and boots are required.

Photos:  Julie Smith Images Photography and BR Videoing free live feed on site.  If you win an award we require you to have your photo taken with the sponsors unless prior arrangements are made at the office. Must be in dress code for photo's.

​

 

Changes:  Any changes to entries please email  Pat at hpaint@cbbmail.com.  Once event has started notify office IN PERSON with all changes. DO NOT send texts, emails or Facebook messages.  They will not be answered

​

 

 Refund:  After June 9th, Entry fee less office fee will only be refunded with a vet /medical release provided within 10 days from race date and sent to Pat at hpaint@cbbmail.com.  Refunds will be mailed after completion of race with a vet/medical release.  Horse substitution allowable and must notify office with registered name of sub horse prior to competing.

American Qualifier Entries:  Must enter online with the BBR (Better Barrel Races) at www.betterbarrelraces.com/shows/details/39006.  You will also enter the Showdown in the Cascades Sunday Open  5D Barrels. Only one run will be made, your qualifier run will automatically be rolled into the $3750 Added Open 5D.  Top Qualifiers and 1st place horse must be available on the arena floor immediately after the round for pictures and to receive awards.

Jr World Qualifier Pole Bending:  Must enter online  at https://kellykbarrelracing.com/file/Races.html.    If you qualify for Vegas you will need to be on the arena floor immediately after the round for pictures in dress code.

​

 

Jr World Qualifier Barrels:  Must enter online  at https://kellykbarrelracing.com/file/Races.html.   You will also enter the Showdown in the Cascades Saturday Open 5D Barrels. Only one run will be made, your qualifier run will automatically be rolled into the $3750 Added Open 5D Barrels. If you qualify for Vegas you will need to be on the arena floor immediately after the round for pictures in dress code

 

Open 5D Race:  Standard course 40ft score. 5D Format  .5, 1, 1.5 & 2 sec splits.   75% payback.  Open awards for average on Friday, Saturday and Sunday combined. Must be present or notify office that you have someone available to receive your award and be available for sponsor pictures.  Must be in dress code.

Pee Wee:  Limited to the first 20 paid.  10 & under as of Jan. 1st 2020.  Jackpot only, no awards.  One entry per person.

​

 

Entries: Must be postmarked by June 9th to be in the pre-draw and to avoid the late fee. With the consolidation of Post Office locations and closing of Post Office Sorting Facilities-please be aware that mail deposited at some postal sites can take 2-3 days to be postmarked. We strongly recommend any payments sent on June 9th be mailed at the Post Office's inside counter with a hand stamped postmark to avoid any postmark delays that could have ramifications we are not responsible for.   Do not mail in any entries after June 9th.  Onsite entries accepted with Cash or cc only. NO CHECKS after June 19th.

BBR $1000 Sidepot:  $1000 added, 5D payout. Must be a current BBR member and provide your BBR #. You can join onsite at race or got to http://www.betterbarrelraces.com/join.

 

$5,000 Select Stallion Stakes:  Horse must be enrolled as Select Stallion Stakes progeny.  Checks will be mailed from the Select Stallion Office.

 

 

Payments:  Cash, Check, Credit Card  (5% processing fee for Credit Card) $35 return check fee.  NO CHECKS ACCEPTED  After  June 9th Cash or Credit Card only. 

​

 

Draw 1 and Draw 2 :  NEW this year, we will be offering you a choice between Draw #1 and Draw #2 if you pre enter.  Both draws will be posted on June 17th.  For example if you are entering more than 1 horse but would like to know when your 2nd horse will be up prior to the race you can select Draw #1 for your first horse and Draw #2 for your second horse.  With  this option you will be able to pre enter and know when you will be up prior to the late draw.  1st Late Draw will be posted 1 hr before race starts.

 

Pre-Draw:  Will be posted online June 17th at www.turnnburnbarrelracing.com

Late Entries: Will be accepted up to the last 20 runs. Late entries are subject to late fees. Late entries, stalls and RV sites , after June 9th will be accepted  onsite at the race office, cash or cc only . If pre entered and enter another horse after  June 9th you will incur a late fee on the additional horse. One late fee per rider max.

​

 

Barrel Exhibitions: Will be in a Group Riding format, 15 min. intervals with 5 spaces/riders available per slot.  $20 per slot.  If the time you select is not available, we will contact you with available options.  No refunds.  Rider can sell their slot to someone else  but must notify the person at the gate prior to your time slot.  Day of Group Riding, check onsite with gate person for availability and purchase of Group Riding Slots. No exceptions

 

Pole Bending Time Onlies:  $5 at gate for one time thru.

​

 

No Time: Contestants will receive a no time for knocking a barrel or pole over or breaking the pattern.

 

Timers:  Electric timer will be used.  Reruns will be given only in the event of a timer malfunction and penalties will be carried over.  Reruns will not be given for horses falling, contestant’s equipment breaking off for a rider’s decision to pull up.

​

 

Drags: There will be a tractor drag after every 5 drawn runs and a big drag after every 50 drawn.    Each class will start with #1 run . Turn outs and releases will be included in the count.  The ground may be reworked at any time at the discretion of The Showdown committee for the safety of everyone.

​

 

Disqualification: Contestants must be ready when called. Failure to be in position in the holding area will result in a disqualification. Contestants must be in holding pen during your drag. If a horse is run out of order, it will be disqualified.  Announcer will call rider name three times, failure to be ready after 3rd call will be a turnout.

​

 

Stalls:  Stalls are required for $30 per night.  No overnight tying to trailers or pens per the facility. We recommend if you are arriving late to pre purchase stalls. Unless reserved and paid for stalls will be locked.

 

Shavings: No outside shavings per facility.  Stalls will include 1 bag of shavings 1st night.  Additional bags can be purchased at race Office for $10, 12 cubic ft Pine Shavings.  Must purchase shavings at race office.

 

Parking/Camping:  RV Hook ups are $30 per night.  Parking cards will be issued and must placed in a visible location.  There are limited amount of RV spots so it is on a 1st paid, 1st served basis.

​

 

Concessions:  The Rim Rock Café will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for your convenience. 

​

 

Non registered vendors will be charged double the regular vendor fee and disqualified without refunds if competing at event.  If you receive money for any goods or service you are considered a vendor.  No exceptions.

​

 

Dogs: Dogs must be on leash at all times.  No dogs in the arena.
